FAQ'S ABOUT TYSONS SELF STORAGE IN VIENNA, VIRGINIA

How can I contact you?

We have two locations, both just a block off Route 7:
Tysons Corner: (703) 821-3232 | Reston/Great Falls: (703) 759-5400

Where are you located?

Our Tysons location is right across Route 7 from the Sheraton® Premiere Hotel (take Exit 47A off I-495, 2 miles west on Route 7). Take a right turn at the Koons Toyota™ onto Industrial Way. We are one block off Route 7 on the left.

Our Reston/Great Falls location is 4 1/2 miles on Route 7 West from Tysons (take Exit 45 off I-495 or Exit 67 off I-66 to Dulles Toll Road, Exit 16-Route 7 West). Take a right turn after the Hill's Nursery and 7-Eleven® onto Downey Drive. We are one block off Route 7 on the left.

From Reston, take Baron Cameron Avenue to a right on Route 7 (headed east). Make a U-turn at the second opening on the median. As you make the turn, you'll pass the Hill's Nursery and 7-Eleven® on your right. Take a right onto Downey Drive.

When are you open?

For questions, to see a unit, and to rent space, our rental office is open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Once you rent, you have access through our electronic gate from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. We are closed five major holidays.

How long a rental agreement must I sign?

The rental agreement is month to month. We have just a one-month minimum. Rent is due on the first of each month. You give a 10-day advance notice when you plan to vacate. We prorate rent from the day you plan to move in and prorate rent out to the fifth of the month.

Are there any discounts?

We frequently have free-month move-in specials on our ground floor units, many with convenient drive-up doors. Call us for current offers. You get a significant rent discount on second floor space, and your second full month's rent is always free upstairs.

You can take advantage of significant savings with our annual deal on any unit: when you pay 11 months up front, the 12th month is free—an 8% savings. If you vacate before the end of the term, we will refund any full, unused months (except the free month)—you aren't locked into a long-term rental agreement.

How long does it take to rent?

The complete rental process takes only about 10 to 15 minutes to see the unit and to fill out the rental agreement. You may want to visit our office before your move date to complete the agreement so you don't keep your movers waiting on moving day.

What do I need to do to rent a space?

We ask that you provide the names of all the owners of the goods you will be storing. All owners must sign the rental agreement. For commercial accounts, a representative authorized to sign contracts must visit our rental office to complete the paperwork.
We will need at least 3 telephone numbers (including an emergency contact name and number). We will need a street address as backup if you wish to use a post office box for mail. Plan to bring a valid picture ID such as a driver's license, passport or state-issued personal identification card.

What about insurance for my goods?

You provide your own insurance. Check with your homeowner's, rental or commercial insurance agent to determine if your goods are covered under your current plan while in storage. Or, pick up a mail-in insurance brochure in our office for a storage policy available through Greenwich Insurance. Insurance on your goods is your responsibility.

Are there any other charges in addition to the monthly rent?

There is a one-time processing fee of $9.00. You provide your own lock and keep all the keys to it. We sell locks, each with 2 keys, for $7.50 (sales tax included).

How can I pay for my unit?

When you rent, you can pay by cash, personal or company check, Visa or MasterCard.

How do I pay my monthly rent?

Once you rent, we supply you with a payment reminder sheet and payment envelopes you can use to mail in your monthly rent. Or, you may pay by cash, check or credit card in person at our rental office or call in a credit card. You can also sign up to have your Visa or MasterCard automatically charged on the first of each month.

When is rent due? Do you send bills?

The rent is due on the first of each month in advance for the month. We send monthly invoices to commercial tenants (one to two months before the due date). We send quarterly rent reminders to individual tenants who pay 3 months or more at a time.

Are there any restrictions on what I can store?

Please do not store any flammables (no gasoline cans, propane or kerosene canisters, etc.), any liquids (no paint) or food (either in cans or bags).
